The numbers don't lie! He is the best ride ever to take part in this series. Bad weekends happen to all of them and next time it may happen to Nori. If the bike is prepared perfectly, Ben will not allow the title slip through his fingers. It will be an epic battle between Nori and Ben.

WSBK » Spies can claim ninth on all-time WSBK win list

Despite a tough time at Imola, Ben Spies can still finish his first World Superbike season as world champion - and as high as ninth on the all-time WSBK win list!

"The numbers don't lie! He is the best ride ever to take part in this series."

He hasn't even completed a season yet. By that logic, someone who raced once, and won, would be the best Superbike rider ever with a 100% record! The likes of Bayliss, Foggy etc raced in the series for years and won consistently. One season is not long enough to reach your conclusion.

No Jiri, Spies would need to spend longer in the series to properly compare him with the likes of Foggy and Bayliss. Statistics need adequate sample sizes to be representative, or we could say after one race weekend where a new rider takes a win and a DNF that he is the best rider ever with a 50% win rate even if he never competed in another race.

Spies may not even win the title this year, no way can he be called the best ever!

I'll never understand how people try to compare riders from two completely different series. Especially given that the bikes require different styles and skills.

The only "Top 5 in the World" Spies falls into is Top 5 in World Superbike. It's impossible to compare MotoGP riders and WSBK riders.

Yes Stavros,

you are right. My call is a bit pre-mature I agree. Couple of years is the minimum period after which we can measure him with the other greats. But I still have that feeling this guy is something special....

He is that Jiri. But he has to win the world title yet and Haga isn't going to make it easy. And there's Rea and Fabrizio to watch out for, literally.

dont suppose your american are you ?

the facts of it are WSBK is weak at the moment and because of this it makes a good rider look even better.

do you think spies could have beaten baylis so easily?...i think not.

i like norri but hes been in wsbk for year and never won a championship

if riders like simonchelli were in it week in week out i dont think ben would be sitting so pretty!

Too true Starsandstripes. WSBK is full of once-were-fast old guys at the moment, even Haga is 36.

im not so sure age has anything to do with it cos look how old bayliss was .

but...

theres a lot of up n comming bsb riders in wskb at the moment.. max biaggi has definitly seen better days

fabrizio is a 2nd rate rider, always has been and nori is a nearly man ...almost but not quite.

the series is not the same as when foggy battled russell or when edwards battled bayliss

and when ben gets to motogp i think he and his fanboys are in for a shock

after all simonchelli the man cub came 3rd at the first meet hows ben supposed to handle the speed of rossi, pedrosa, lorenzo & stoner im really looking forward to spies in gp and im sure rossi is quietly waiting too
