Ben is more than capable of winning the next 2 races. He's done it many times this year already. Should be a great weekend of racing.

WSBK » Faulty tyre undoes Spies victory effort

Ben Spies: I tried as hard as I could in that second race, but just went backwards; It felt like I had a motorhome tyre on the thing and there was nothing I could do.

Haga wins 2009 World Superbike Championship!! No way Ben wins 2 in Portimao. No way he gains 10 points on Haga. The series is too tight now. WSBK is way more exciting than MotoGP.

Faulty equipment this season have proven Spies undoing unless Nori has a similar misfortune in Portimao but that isn't likely as the Duck is very reliable. But, that's racing...and preparation. And luck.

the title is far from over.

theres a decent probability it could be wet in portimao at the end of october - which would throw plenty petrol on the fire!!

even if its dry, its still in spies' hands and one mishap or a piece of misofortune from either rider could decide the title

Even more respect to Ben, wow what a phenomenon, to be able to finish 4th with a crap tyre, parallels with Rossi! He will win the championship now, surely.

It's been an amazin season, to be going into the final round just 10 points between them is awesome. I bet Haga's a bit supprised that Spies is taking him down to the wire. Can't wait for the final showdown. :D :D :D

Ben can double up, we've seen it before, he's over due for a double and what a way to end it.

there are no sure things here.. and whoever thinks that is lying to themselves. This is down to the wire, with Haga, obviously being in a better position. As far as I'm concerned, this can go either way. Spies has the capabilities to win, but so does Haga. They're both amazing and good under pressure.

If I remember right Shakey was fastest at the winter test at Portimao.....any bets on Ducati providing him with a decent bike for the last round rather than that shed he's been riding all year?
