JC must be drunk. Byrne will be lucky to get a ride in the passenger seat of the pace car next year.

JC, what you said about Byrne pretty much applies to Haslam.

In fact had it not been for Byrne throwing his bike down the road at Brands in 2007 (I think) Haslam may have been champion...

Anyway I rate Haslam as one of the top three brits along with Toseland and Rae. considering the number of factory bikes in WSB he's done a damn good job and deserves a shot in a factory team. Lets just hope Suzuki delivery with a decent bike.

Lean and Max Neukirchner at Suzuki would be a great partnership. I don't know where the rumours about Max came from, but he will be back on track for the Portimao test on the 26th.

From what I'm hearing the Portimao test is 'make or break' for Max.....if he gets passed as medically fit then he has also got to put in competitive times on track before he is considered for re-signing. Bit harsh after the unfortunate injuries he's suffered this year all thro'no fault of his own....I'd expected him to be a front runner this season before it all went tits-up.

No apologies from me, I've argued since before he came back Leon could go very well in WSB :p And his choice of Stiggy when they were pretty much an unknown quantity in main WSB was very canny indeed.

I'm pleased for the lad that he's secured what is the factory Suzuki ride in all bar official name, he's good enough, he deserves it. I think Alstare would miss a trick if they don't partner him with Max Neukirchener 'tho ... On a level playing field Max proved more successful than Nieto, even if Nieto can put in occaisional very good rides.

My sympathy now is with Stiggy team.
They've (almost)come out of nowhere & been giant killers.... & still sponsorship's elusive :rolleye

it was 2006 and it was the first race , not the last.
At least you got the bike right....

The reason Shakey won the title last year was simply a matter of having the best bike at the start of the year.. and the ability to actually ride it. It took the Leon/HM plant combo a while to get dialed in (no suprises when they had to develop from scratch with no real HRC input unlike previous full works efforts)

cal crutchlow didn't need time to get dialed in last year, im well happy haslam has the suzuki ride but dont make excuses for him last year shakey was best and every championship winner is the best the year they win it, tables don't lie and luck doesn't come into it.

whos making excuses.. I think Leon rode well last year, but the Shakey / 1098 combination was a better package over the year, with the odd tuning rules playing into the hands of the 1098 at the start of the year.

and whilst tables may not lie, thay also don't tell you everything.

saying byrne only won it because haslam took time to get dialed in, thats an excuse and yes tables don't tell the whole truth, byrne didn't need to push in the second half of last year so how can anyone say what could of happened its all guess work, if haslam started well last year and the points were close byrne would of took more risks. The last race of last season byrne had title wrapped up and look what happened, so you saying his package at the start of the year is way off.

Go and actually read what I wrote... I never said that Haslam would have won if.... or anything of the bloody sort.. you are just reading what you want to read and not what I actually wrote.

I said Shakey won because he had the best rider/bike combination over the course of the year....

I also said that Leon appeared to take a little time to get dialed in with the Honda..

at no point did I say anyone other than Shakey won, or deserved to win...

now are you going to tell me that Shakey suddenly became a better Rider than Leon last year as he'd finished behind him in the previous two years ?
