Doxa..

lorenzo is the only man who can push rossi to the limit week in week out and he was on the verge of walking away because they wouldnt pay ihm the countless millions rossi earns ..the only saving grace was they promised him a bike equal to rossi's

now really ask your self...are yamaha going to give the same treatment to an "unproven" motogp rider

Doxa, alas it looks as if you have been blinded by the warm man love you feel for spies too

if you think spies is just gonna turn up and start winning in motogp then your as deluded as the rest of the fannie boys here!

Doxa - The reason the Repsol riders get the best Honda parts first is because that is the agreement that Repsol as number one sponsor have with Honda. Not surprising - you pay the big money and in return you expect your riders to get the best equipment.

I have no idea what equipment Spies will get next year, but I wouldn't be surprised if it is better than Colins. However next season will be the first year that Lorenzo gets the same as Rossi - who as has been reported was incensed.

Good luck to both Ben and Haga. I would like it to be decided in the final race. I'm more a fan of all of the riders than any one rider, but on balance I would prefer Ben to get it as he is the best rider

The best rider in WSB 2009 - had to clarify that.

Re results - If colin has the same machinery I would be amazed if Spies beat Colin next year - but although I predicted that Spies would win WSB this year, I have already been amazed by many aspects of his performance.

However I also remember being amazed by Mladin when he first burst on the scene in Aus superbike, then distinctly under whelmed when he flopped in GP's. Fast Freddie however did amaze me ...

Let's just wait till next season we'll know soon enough!

FYI when you say "Hayden beat a younger Mladin" you also need to mention that he was on an RC51 1000R vs GSXR750.

@ stars & stripes

Well, it looks like we are all going to get an idea as to his abilities real soon now. From a previous Crash article:
"...(Spies) will participate as a single rider entry of a Yamaha Factory Racing Team, using YZR-M1 test bikes brought over from Japan."

Now I'm not exactly sure what that means but it does sound like he can expect a very nice package for that weekend. Assuming he does, and gets similar for next season, Valencia should be a real eye-opener.

RE. Hayden vs. Mladin-Nicky beat a younger Mladin on an RC51, 1000 vs. 750cc's.Plus The GSXR that year was an utter piece of ****e.Just ask Frankie Chili or Alan Cathcart who rode all the superbikes that year. Of course this was when the AMA and world superbikes were much closer spec's to each other.I wish Nicky would get off that Ducati and ride WSBK instead, the class just suits him better. GO SPIES&GO HAGA!!! Can't wait for Sunday!

"Hayden was and probably still is a better rider/racer than Spies. He beat a younger Mladin rather easily at a slightly younger age than Spies was for his first AMA title.
Posted by yeah"

Before you post such slop you should get your facts straight. Nicky won a total of 2 AMA titles (600ss and SBK)before going to MotoGP. Spies had 5 AMA titles before he went to WSBK. If you had bothered to actually watch the races in AMA for the years Mat and Ben raced each other and listened to Mat comment that his renewed maniacal fitness program and indeed his entire career rebirth was due to being pressed to the limit by Ben Spies! He even thanked Ben for it publicly after Ben left.
