A page strangely devoid of posts.

Crutchlow rode brilliantly this year and deserves the title. To52land is great on a superbike but he's going to have to watch out.

Laverty is also a class act and deserves a good ride. How can he still be without a ride?

Good on ya, well done fella, keep up the momentum, pleasure to watch good clean, hard fought racing all year, gracious in defeat and mechanical failure, an example to other racers in classes higher up, Go Dude, but in an English way.

Crutchlow will embarass his team mate next year. Agreed that it's incredible that Laverty hasn't been given a good seat yet.

If Cal uses his head and doesn't drop it as much as he did on the HM Plant 'Blade, that team should be close to unstoppable next season (although Rea and Fabrizio will be up there too) with Toseland going for a third title too.

I still can't believe that Norge hasn't been given a ride yet. He deserves one of the decent Moto2 rides (Ten Kate or one of the Moriwaki or Harris chassis'ed teams) after some of the rides he's had this year and some of the battles he's had with Cal.

Not that strange. A dominant season by Crutchlow and a deserving champion but we've seen this too many times to think a great SS rider will automatically take that form up a class.

Going back thru 10 years of champions we have Chambon, Teuchert, Pitt(2), Foret, Vermeulen, Muggeridge, Charpentier(2), Sofouglu, and now Crutchlow. I could be wrong but I don't think any of these guys have gone on to win a bigger championship. Vermelen was perhaps the closest in WSBK 2004 when he came 4th behind JT, Laconi, Haga.

Good luck to him for next season but I wouldn't be too confident that Cal will be beating his teammate next year let alone winning the title.

Congratulations Cal! A thoroughly professional approach to this season and a deserving winner. Commiserations to Eugene though, the only guy capable of week-in week-out taking it to Cal and challenging him for the title.
Roll on next year!!! :D

@ Vermelen was perhaps the closest in WSBK 2004 when he came 4th behind JT, Laconi, Haga.

I think he may actually have been runner up behind Troy Corser in 2005.

Cal was undeniably quick on a the HM Plant Fireblade but I think he was wearing his tyres faster than Leon Haslam, who often came out on top in their tussles, as he did in Portimao in the 2008 season ending races.

I am hopeful for Cal but feel he may have best have served his MotoGP ambitions with a move to Moto2, under the noses of the GP teams themselves.

Camier should be on the Yamaha with 52 and Shakey on the Aprilia. The Yamaha combo would have created some fantastic fireworks... a battle I believe Camier would have won.

Well done Cal, an awsome performance. Outstanding wouldn't be too strong a word, on a new bike, new team and new tracks too.
Good luck for 2010, prove all t.hose wrong that reckon a good SS rider can't win in WSB
