Corser is the best option for BMW - he can develop a bike like nobody else, although I'm not sure Reuben should be with him next season - as much as I like the guy, he needs to be on top machinery like the Duke to be up there. Hopefully he'll get some luck next season after two majorly unlucky breaks (literally.)

I think the S1000 will get some trick bits and do better than this season. I think a podium's a realistic option for them, as long as the tires don't go to pot, which seems to happen quite often after some decent starts...

2 or 3 more years like this season and BMW will quit WSBK...even Corser's promising opinions. He should abandon German squad and go to Yam or Aprilia. Even new Kawasaki plan looks more realistic than BMW something. KTM won't be in WSB same like MV Agusta. Only Aprilia as newcomer was capable to bring some results.

BMW appears to be methodically working on improvements to make the bike more competitive. With Corser they have a proven development rider with unquestioned skills to run at the front. Basically, if it isn't in the lead pack it is the bike not the rider.

However, I still wonder if BMW has what it takes to create a bike from scratch, build a race team, and have the tenacity to stick it out for another season or two of mid-pack results. Watching Aprilia run near the front from Qatar must be somewhat humbling and frustrating for the Bavarians.
Corser is padding his retirement account, he isn't going anywhere.
