@MST75 - What's going on? Josh Brookes is a class international level rider. If he can take part in the WSBK tests beforehand he stands as much chance as any other rider on the grid. If he beats Leon Camier he'll have done well and I don't see why he shouldn't. Josh Brookes rides hard and fair to win and that's the kind of rider I like.

Brookes is a logical choice - I hope he has a couple of solid points scoring rides and returns uninjured to BSB.

@ sweeble
He certainly rides hard but fair is pushing it a bit far, just ask Rutter or Andrews. Caused injuries to both simply because, as his aussie mate would say "his ambition outweighed his talent"
I'm all for close exciting racing but at the same time there is no need to take other riders out through deliberate dirty moves as pulled on rutter or through riding outwith your own ability and ramming somebody into a slow corner as he did to Simon Andrews

Josh Brookes is a good choice, if the bike is fast, he can score a good result. I don't know he will take part in the test today, but there will be the official test before the race, so he will now the bike nearly as much as the contracted riders. Problem can be that the grid is very strong, but there are usually small gaps at Phillip Island.

For Hopkins this injury couldn't come in a worse time. He will miss the important tests and the first race wich can affect his performance in subsequent races. This guy is very-very unlucky. Maybe 2007 was the last season when he didn't have an injury?

@realfan - Brookes is a Suzuki rider. The team obviously only expect Hopper to be out for the test and one round, therefore Brookes is the sensible choice as a stand-in rider.

@ sick cylinder
It was a bit tongue in cheek as in the previous stories about hopper and his injured hand ( and any other injured rider) everybody keeps saying west is the perfect replacement. There has been loads of comments about how the series organisers (bsb, wsbk and mgp) should have done more to keep him on a bike and I just dont see why they would.

i think its only right that josh brookes should ride the wsb gsxr as he has the most time on this type off bike. Hope he gets some points and Hopper gets sorted asap. !!!!
