With the cost of a superbike around a million pounds a pop (according to Steve Parrish), it's not that surprising that Audi and Ducati have chosen to concentrate their resources on MotoGP next season. In fact with Superbikes now costing about half as much of a full MotoGP prototype, they now bear very little in common with their road-going counterparts, which was the whole point of them in the first place. The bike companies just aren't getting the value for money that they used to from racing them.
Like it or not, MotoGP has a higher profile and right now there isn't a lot of money to go around.

Please read it again. Ducati will still be in Superbike. Parkingo will probably take over Ducati factory role as they have heaps of cash. A lot of the problem was probably Ducati trying to dump Giugliano - he's Althea's boy and looks like they're sticking by him. Good for them!

I have to agree with Colnelclaw, although the racing was good the WSB paddock looked like a poor cousin to BSB never mind Motogp. I am not sure that Parkingo have buckets of cash to run Ducati's and having to pay for them.

First of all they stitch up Cal Crutchlow,then Scott Redding now its Althea .Would you trust Ducati?

So it turns out that World Superbikes is in dire trouble after all and Dorna is going to try and save it.

Well althea can give a try to the kawazaki or BMW, Davide have perseverance and determination, at least have the will to try something different.
