Foggy for sale

The former Foggy Petronas Racing World Superbike team has instructed Wyles Hardy & Co to stage an online website sale of all remaining equipment and assets.

The team, set up by ex-world champion Carl Fogarty, will host a viewing day at their Burton-on-Trent base on Saturday 12th April. Each of the 500 Lots can be bid for and purchased only online at www.wyleshardy.com, with the deadline for bids of 12 noon Thursday 17th April.

Foggy Petronas and its 900cc FP1 motorcycle took two pole positions and two podiums during a four-year WSBK career from 2003-2006 (2002 was spent setting up the team and developing the motorcycle away from the racetrack).

Key items on sale include a state-of-the-art SuperFlow 'Cycledyn SF-250' Dynomometer; leathers, helmets and memorabilia worn and signed by Carl Fogarty and former FPR riders including Troy Corser, Garry McCoy and Chris Walker; racing parts; garage mechanics' tooling and equipment; machine tools; office and computer equipment; plus the fully fitted Vipex Conestoga Double Deck Race Trailer.

"There should be something here for everyone from professional race teams, amateur racers to every motorcycling enthusiast," said Fogarty. "Our team always prided themselves on excellence so all the items, from the race trailer down to tools and equipment are of excellent quality and in great condition.”"

Viewing on Saturday April 12th starts at 9am and lasts until 4pm and Fogarty is scheduled to attend the base at Unit 1, Stretton Business Park, Brunel Drive, Burton-on-Trent, DE13 0BY.

Foggy Racing was sidelined from the 2007 world championship after failing to find a replacement for Petronas.

Fogarty then revealed plans for a return in 2008, as the factory team of legendary Italian marque MV Agusta no less - but the much-anticipated partnership was scrapped after the search for sponsors to back the project again proved fruitless.

Part of the proceeds from the sale will go towards Carl's official charity, the NSPCC.

Troy Corser was not a wrong rider, but he is not the guy pushing
too much on a bike that is less than 98%.
I'm quite sure somebody like Bayliss or Xaus could manage a win
    with the Petronas.
