Neukirchner, Tamada set for return

Max Neukirchner and Makoto Tamada are lined up to make their return to the World Superbike Championship fray during mid-season testing at Imola having made a sufficient recovery from injuries sustained in the same accident at Monza.

Both Neukirchner and Tamada haven't ridden a bike since being involved in a first turn accident around the Italian circuit, the former breaking his leg and the latter breaking his wrist.

For Neukirchner, the return to competition will come after a successful recuperation from a broken femur, one that many feared would rule him out for the remainder of the season.

As it happens, the German is destined to return to competition at Brno, but he is also hoping to throw his leg over the Suzuki Alstare Brux machine at Imola for the annual pre-season test.

Kawasaki rider Tamada will join him in returning, the Japanese rider now fully recovered from his ailments.

Following a tough start to his season, not helped by the success of replacement Sheridan Morais and Jamie Hacking, Tamada will be eager to expand on his current two points haul when also makes an appearance in the Czech Republic.

The only guy who impressed me on the kwak was Sheridan Morais. Hacking has showed his limits. Not fast enough for the wsbk. Tamada? well, we 'll see him back for some action next year on a private Duke. Go on makoto, you're still fast.
