Suzuki, Kawasaki, Honda courting Haslam?

Leon Haslam has been approached by at least three rivals teams about the possibility of switching from Stiggy Racing in 2010 following a headline-grabbing turn in the World Superbike Championship this season.

Following four seasons competing at British Superbike level, former grand prix rider Haslam returned to the series with Supersport graduates Stiggy Racing, immediately impressing with a podium during the opening round at Phillip Island.

Rostrum finishes at Assen and Donington Park, coupled to a current sixth in the overall standings, have further established Haslam as a wanted man heading into the off-season.

Indeed, with Stiggy Racing's status still undecided following the announcement it has terminated its partnership with financial providers S2 Racing, the Derby Telegraph is reporting that Suzuki, Honda and Kawasaki have approached Haslam with the intention of luring him to its factory concerns.

Nonetheless, Haslam insists he will remain loyal to Stiggy Racing until it has finalised its plans for 2010, which is rumoured to involve a customer Yamaha deal.

“We've certainly found some consistency in recent races and it's all credit to Stiggy and the team that we've been able to get those results.

"The team has had a turbulent time of late but there was a really genuine team spirit in Imola last weekend and I'm sure that will carry us through the final two rounds.”

1. Stay away from Kawasaki!

2. Don't miss out on a good ride trying to stay loyal to Stiggy. If they get their funding and bikes in place fine, but don't hang about too long.
