Karl Muggeridge has confirmed he will switch to the German-based IDM Superbike series in 2010 after being unable to land a front-running World Superbike ride.

The Australian has competed in the premier Superbike championship since his 2005 after winning the World Supersport crown the previous year, but failed to get on the podium in 113 races.

Last seen on the world stage riding the factory Suzuki Alstare in place of Max Neukirchner, with the team favouring a new line-up of Sylvain Guintoli and Leon Haslam for 2010, Muggeridge has signed for the Holzhauer Honda team in Germany.

"The team is run by a Honda dealer who also has a tuning business. The team is HRP, they are good guys, and run it very professionally. We have put together a pretty good deal and the expectations are to go out and win!"

"The guys in the team all speak German, but I will have to improve mine I think! Even if it is only to make sure they understand my jokes. I will get to work directly with Pirelli for developing the tyres. We have done a lot of work on the bike already."

Muggeridge rode for Ten Kate Honda, Alto Evolution Honda, DFX Honda and Celani Suzuki during his five years of World Superbike racing. He also raced in selected rounds of the British Superbike Championship with HM Plant Honda.
