Smrz testing Aprilia in Spain

Jakub Smrz to test Aprilia in Spain as team evaluates options for the 2010 campaign
Jakub Smrz is to test an Aprilia RSV4 at Valencia this week as the combined Guandalini and Borciani WSBK team looks at its options for the 2010 season.

The two teams, which previously campaigned Ducati machinery, are set to join forces for the new season with Smrz taking up one of the rides.

While he will test the Aprilia in Spain, no deal has yet been done that will see the team become a satellite Aprilia outfit.

"Yes, it's correct, but there is no deal done already,” Aprilia Racing boss Luigi Dall'Igna told the WSBK website. “From the Aprilia side we have no problems.

"The bike is ready, we are waiting. We prepared another completely new bike for him."

A possible switch to Aprilia has been mooted ever since the announcement that the Althea team was to switch from Honda to Ducati for 2010.
