Jakub Smrz continues to bond with the Aprilia RSV-4 as he qualifies on the front row again at Magny-Cours.
Smrz: I wish the season didn’t end now
Jakub Smrz says he wishes the 2010 World Superbike season lasted longer as he feels he has now achieved a breakthrough in set-up aboard the B&G Aprilia RSV-4.

The Czech rider switched from Ducati to Aprilia machinery from the Brno round onwards, but despite a difficult start with the untested bike he has now started on the front row in three of the final four events.

Scoring one of his best results in World Superbikes with a fourth last time out at Imola, Smrz qualified in third position at Magny-Cours and confessed to now wanting more time on the bike.

“I performed just as well as I did at Imola, it's front row for me again,” he said. “I really have to thank the team and the Aprilia engineers for this. After a few races we found a good base set-up, which allowed me to perform at my best and get a better understanding of the bike.

“I wish it didn't end now, I think I could still improve on this bike, if I only had a couple more races. My goal is to get a good start tomorrow. If I run in front, I'm sure I'll have a lot of fun.”

Smrz has already confirmed he will ride a Ducati under the Liberty Racing banner in 2011.
