Pedercini gives Australian SBK champ Phillip Island ride
Reigning Australian Superbike champion Bryan Staring is to race as a wild-card for Pedercini Kawasaki at the opening round of 2011 World Superbike Championship, at Phillip Island.

Staring will race for Pedercini in the Superstock 1000 FIM Cup this year, but with the STK class not present in Australia, Staring has been given the chance to take on the WSBK stars in his home round on full SBK machinery.

Roby Rolfo's is Pedercini's only confirmed full-time WSBK rider for 2011. The team is still waiting to hear back from grand prix rider Gabor Talmacsi.

As well as Staring another local rider, 2009 Australian SBK champion Josh Waters, has also secured a WSBK wild-card for Phillip Island. Waters will race for the Yoshimura Suzuki team.

The Phillip Island round takes place from February 25-27.
