Toseland 'ruled out of Misano, Aragon'

8 June 2011

James Toseland's troubled 2011 World Superbike campaign is set to continue into the second-half of the season after doctors ruled him out of racing for the next two events.

Toseland has completed just a single race since injuring his wrist in a testing accident at Motorland Aragon back in March, just one round into his new deal with the BMW Italia team.

Indeed, though Toseland made a tentative return to action at Miller Motorsports Park, picking up a solitary point for his efforts in race one, the Briton revealed that he returned to doctors again after pain flared in his wrist once more following the event.

Toseland has since posted on his Facebook fan page that he has been told not to compete for the next four weeks, ruling him out of Misano this weekend and Motorland Aragon a week later.

“Just been to see the doctor today as my wrist started to hurt again after Salt Lake,” he posted. “I've been told not to race for the next four weeks - gutted is an understatement, but I'm determined to make a come back in Brno.”

Toseland has managed just one full weekend of competition with BMW Italia, at the Phillip Island season opener.
