Aprilia Racing reveals its contender for the 2012 World Superbike Championship, alongside riders Max Biaggi and Eugene Laverty.
Aprilia Racing has taken the wraps off the bike it is charging with winning back the World Superbike Championship title in 2012, alongside its revised rider line-up of
Max Biaggi and Eugene Laverty.
Having released a teaser shot of its two riders in their leathers, Aprilia has now presented the RSV4 in Milan, where Biaggi and team newcomer Laverty were on hand to show off their 2012 machine.
As expected, Alitalia will not provide title sponsorship to the team, the Italian national airliner having provided backing for the last two seasons. As such, Aprilia will revert back to a livery similar to that of its 2009 comeback season, with the black and red corporate hues dominating the design.
Aprilia won the riders' and manufacturers' title in 2010 following Biaggi's dominant season, but lost the crown to
Carlos Checa and Ducati last season.
