WSBK » Baz gets nod for vacant Kawasaki seat

Following a strong start to the season in the FIM Superstock 1000 Championship, Loris Baz is promoted to Kawasaki's factory World Superbike squad at Donington Park.
Baz gets nod for vacant Kawasaki seat
Loris Baz will make his World Superbike Championship debut at Donington Park this weekend after being named as the latest rider to compete alongside Tom Sykes in the official Kawasaki team.

The manufacturer has been seeking a long-term replacement for the injured Joan Lascorz, but with original choice Sergio Gadea struggling for pace on his debut at Monza, it has chosen to give Baz a shot at Donington Park.

Part of the reasoning behind Baz's promotion is his prior Superbike knowledge around Donington Park from his stint competing in the British Superbike Championship, while he has shown eye-opening form aboard a MRS Kawasaki ZX-10R in the FIM Superstock 1000 series this season.

With no Superstock 1000 racing taking place at Donington Park, or the following Miller Motorsports Park round in two weeks' time, a strong performance here could see the Frenchman secure a longer term role with the manufacturer.
