Loris Baz will make his World Superbike Championship debut at Donington
Park this weekend after being named as the latest rider to compete alongside Tom Sykes in the official Kawasaki team.
The manufacturer has been seeking a long-term replacement for the injured Joan Lascorz, but with original choice Sergio Gadea struggling for pace on his debut at Monza, it has chosen to give Baz a shot at Donington
Part of the reasoning behind Baz's promotion is his prior Superbike knowledge around Donington
Park from his stint competing in the British Superbike Championship, while he has shown eye-opening form aboard a MRS Kawasaki ZX-10R in the FIM Superstock 1000 series this season.
With no Superstock 1000 racing taking place at Donington
Park, or the following Miller Motorsports Park round in two weeks' time, a strong performance here could see the Frenchman secure a longer term role with the manufacturer.
