Baz eyeing another step forward at Aragon

27 June 2012

Loris Baz says he is keeping his expectations fairly modest ahead of his fourth World Superbike Championship start at Motorland Aragon, the Frenchman maintaining that he simply wants to continue progressing.

Having been offered the chance to ride the factory Kawasaki for the remainder of the 2012 season in place of the injured Joan Lascorz, Baz showed impressive form last time out at Misano to reach Superpole and finish just behind his team-mate Tom Sykes in eighth position.

Even so, while that result would mark his second top ten finish in just six starts, Baz isn't looking beyond that at the moment, insisting his targets for Motorland Aragon – where he tested last week - are to simply reach Superpole and score a handful of points.

“I still have no definite, firm, objectives just to learn and improve on the bike. If I can have the same objectives as I had going into the previous round at Misano that would be good. If I can be in Superpole and score two top 12 or 13 results, I would be happy.

“Then after that, more can be better. We had a good base to start with in our recent tests but we made some good work to find more feedback from the bike and to feel where the limit is some more.”
