Jakub Smrz says he is ready for whatever the British summer has to offer when the tenth round of the World Superbike Championship at
Silverstone gets underway with him on pole position.
The Czech rider, who is yet to win a race in 148 starts, will get the two races underway from his second pole position of the season after triumphing in tricky weather conditions during Superpole.
With the weather looking similarly volatile for the races, Smrz is confident he can stay at the front regardless of whether it is wet or dry.
“It was a great performance in the wet. The conditions were really difficult, the rain was changing at every moment on every part of the track, but I was trying to improve lap by lap and then on the last lap I tried my best and it was enough for first place. We are used to these conditions this year, so we must be ready for everything tomorrow.”
Marking his third career Superpole, Smrz was pleased to give Effenbert Liberty Ducati a boost following a troubled few weeks in the wake of losing top rider Sylvain Guintoli.
