PICS: Honda reveals new livery for Magny-Cours
4 October 2012
The Honda World Superbike Team will run its CBR1000RR Fireblades in a one-off colour scheme at Magny-Cours in France this weekend.
The new paintwork represents the livery of Honda's road-going version of the 2013 Fireblade, which was unveiled this week at Intermot, a major motorcycle exhibition in Cologne, Germany.
Both Jonathan Rea and Hiroshi Aoyama will compete in the new-look colours at the French circuit, which hosts the final round of the 2012 World Superbike Championship.
The team's Fireblades will also feature headlights stickers, which will be used on the bikes next season to underline the similarities between the WSBK racers and the road-going versions available to the public.
Northern Irishman Rea said: “I like this new paint scheme, especially as it underlines the fact that we're racing on production bikes that you can buy at your local Honda dealer.
“Ours are maybe a little more sophisticated, but the link is definitely there.”
The colours will only be used on Honda's World Superbike machines this weekend as the team reverts to a new design in 2013 after securing Pata as its title sponsor.
Leon Haslam will join Rea in an all-British line-up for Honda in the championship next year.
