Red Devils Roma has announced it will make the switch from Ducati to Aprilia machinery for its second World Superbike Championship season next year.
Red Devils Roma made its
WSBK debut in 2012 after several seasons competing at Superstock 1000 level (under the guise of SS Lazio), the Italian team stepping up with a single Ducati 1098R helmed by Niccolo Canepa.
However, having already confirmed
Michel Fabrizio as its new rider for 2013 and hinted at a deal with Ducati to run a pair of new 1199 Panigales, Red Devils Roma has now gone ahead and announced it will be a satellite Aprilia team for next year instead.
With the revised team set to be launched at the final round of the CIV Italian Superbike series this weekend, Fabrizio will get his first outing on the RSV4 at a Motorland Aragon test next week.
Despite being the most experienced rider on the grid with 184 starts under his belt, Fabrizio, who has competed as a Honda, Ducati, Suzuki and BMW rider during his time in WSBK, has never ridden the Aprilia RSV4 before.
Red Devils Roma will compete with backing from General Invest, though it isn't known whether it will enter a single RSV4 or double up for 2013.
