WSBK Aragon 2013: Knee injury to sideline Leon Camier?

12 April 2013

Leon Camier could be forced to miss the remainder of the second World Superbike Championship round at Motorland Aragon after injuring his knee in an accident during Q1.

The Fixi Crescent Suzuki rider was flung into a high-side as he rounded the long turn ten left-hander just minutes into the session, an accident that necessitated a red flag period.

Taken to the medical centre, Camier was diagnosed with a left knee dislocation and a wound which required stitches. He has now been taken to the local Alcaniz hospital, where he is undergoing further examination.

Putting Camier in serious doubt to compete for the remainder of this weekend, his potential absence would come as a bitter blow for a rider that had been showing well in the lead up to the accident and was still seventh fastest at the end of the Q1 session despite completing just two flying laps.
