Broc Parkes puts the sole Ten Kate Honda entry on top of the timesheets during the second of four World Supersport test sessions at Phillip Island.
Local favourite Broc Parkes brought the opening day of World Supersport Championship testing to a close with the quickest lap time during the afternoon session at Phillip Island, even if it wasn't enough to unseat Fabien Foret from the overall timesheets.
Emerging top of a generally slower PM session, Ten Kate Honda's Parkes moved to the front with a best of 1min 35.412secs, though he remained a comfortable three tenths off the benchmark set by Foret during the morning session.
Kenan Sofuoglu was second quickest once more as he enjoyed an encouraging return to WSS competition on the DeltaFin Kawasaki, while Sam Lowes made substantial gains between the sessions to claim third quickest on the Bogdanka PTR Honda.
Morning pace setter Foret was fourth on the Intermoto Step Kawasaki, ahead of fellow Frenchman Jules Cluzel, who enjoyed a seamless transition from Moto2 on his first day of WSS running.
Fresh from a surprise top four result in the morning, Balazs Nemeth maintained his strong form for sixth fastest, while Vladimir Leonov climbed the timesheets to emerge as the best Yamaha representative in seventh position.
Sheridan Morais was another enjoying an upward trend in the afternoon on the second of the factory-supported DeltaFin Kawasaki's, while Massimo Roccoli held onto ninth, despite causing a red flag when he crashed his Bike Service WTR Ten 10 Yamaha mid-way through the session.
Roberto Tamburini lifted newcomers Lorini Honda into the top ten, denying Imre Toth, Mathew Scholtz and Vittorio Iannuzzo on the quickest on the two-strong Triumph contingent in 11th, 12th and 13th respectively.
Elsewhere, Martin Jessopp was 23rd quickest, while reigning Superstock 600 champion made his first appearance of the day in 18th position on the RivaMoto Yamaha.
