Sam Lowes has signalled his intentions to maintain a winning feeling in the World Supersport Championship by taking provisional pole position at Misano.
The Englishman, a winner last time out at Donington Park, battled it out for overnight honours with PTR stablemate Jules Cluzel and title rival Kenan Sofuoglu before surging to the front with a best of 1min 38.987secs.
The only rider get below 1min 39secs, Lowes was almost three tenths faster than Kawasaki's Sofuoglu, while the Turk was just a handful of hundredths up on Ten Kate Honda's Broc Parkes and Cluzel.
Wild-card rider Stefano Cruciani, who finished fifth at Monza earlier this season, was in impressive form again to match that position aboard the Puccetti Kawasaki, ahead of the Intermoto ZX-6R of Fabien Foret.
Power Team Suriano Triumph riders Alex Baldolini and Vittorio Iannuzzo held down seventh and ninth, the Italian pair sandwiching South African rider Ronan Quarmby, while Roberto Tamburini rounded out the top ten.
Further back, Gabor Talmacsi progressed to 16th as he becomes better acquainted with Supersport machinery, while Martin Jessopp is a provisional 26th on the grid.
