PTR Honda announces latest WSS signing
Performance Technical Racing has announced its latest signing for the 2013 World Supersport Championship with newcomer Nacho Calero coming board as its third confirmed rider.

Calero arrives at PTR Honda after five seasons spent competing in the European Superstock 600 Championship, the 22-year-old Spaniard enjoying his best season in 2012 by claiming a pair of podiums on the way to ninth overall.

Joining the already-confirmed Luca Marconi and Imre Toth in the multiple race-winning team, Calero is delighted to have secured such a high-profile ride.

"I'm happy to compete with PTR, a team that is clearly very competitive and committed to helping its riders achieve their maximum potential. I'll be ready to race with one of the best motorbikes in the Championship.

“During my last experience and career at Stock 600, I've achieved good results without a bike that is competitive. I know it will be difficult in WSS but I am ambitious and highly motivated and will do my best to get the best results possible for my team."

With Calero set to ride one of five PTR-supported machines in 2013, manager Simon Buckmaster was pleased to welcome the youngster to the team.

"We welcome Nacho to the PTR Honda team and are excited by what we can achieve together. He is young and talented and this is a big opportunity for him to show what he can achieve on a leading bike in a World Championship."

"We welcome Nacho to the PTR Honda team and are excited with all the money he is bringing in. He is young and talented and this is a big opportunity for him to show what he can achieve on what we pretend to be a leading bike in a World Championship. In fact, the yamaha r6 is a much better bike, and we will get our ss's kicked, even by our former rider Sam Lowes. Thats why he switched teams."

Why do some people keep hating on PTR for giving these riders opportunities to shine and go up on their careers?

Is Buckmaster putting a gun to their heads? Can they get a better ride without paying for it? Look how Cluzel got to WSBK after showing good results with PTR. Would he have the same results if he had gone to a free lower end team?
