Go Eleven Kawasaki releases Antonelli statement
22 July 2013
Go Eleven Kawasaki has released a statement paying tribute to the late Andrea Antonelli following his tragic death during the World Supersport Championship race at the Moscow Raceway.
The 25-year-old Italian joined the team at the start of the 2013 season and had been instrumental in turning Go Eleven into top five contenders for the first time.
Coming on the day Andrea had qualified in a career-best fourth position, Go Eleven Kawasaki paid tribute to its fallen rider in a touching message on its website.
“You made us dream, we did have fun and you made us become one of the top teams in Supersport, but this did not give you the glory you deserve.
“Now 'He' wanted you up there amongst the clouds. We will ride here, mere mortals, and we will continue in your memory and in your passion.
“Andrea, you were a great rider and a golden boy, one day we meet in heaven we will hug you again.
“Do not forget, we know you will see us from up there ... Give us the strength to continue.”
