Kartmania's new home at the Silverstone Wing Complex was popular with exhibitors and visitors last weekend.

Exhibitors included the British Superkart Association, the British Historic Kart Club, BRM Stretton and MDM Designs. A prominent visitor was World Rally Championship co-driver Nicky Grist. As the British distributor for Stilo helmets, Grist launched Stilo's new helmet, the ST4 CMR.

Connor Mills, the recently crowned Formula Kart Stars Mini Max champion received one of the first of the new helmets as the winner of the Stilo Golden Helmet Award for Karting Excellence. Along with Super One series promoter John Hoyle, Grist announced further plans for the Golden Helmet Award in 2013 for the Super One championships.

Kartmania promoter Martin Capenhurst told Crash.net: "We had 74 exhibitors. On Saturday we had 1300 visitors and on Sunday, 1100. A good turn-out considering the economy. All loved the Wing and the Silverstone experience."

Capenhurst is yet to confirm the dates for Kartmania in 2013 but he has identified several areas for improvement. "The only downs were the car parking, especially if you purchased anything heavy and you needed to get it back into the car. For next year that'll be solved; car parking will be in the paddock."
