New motorsport trailer aims to reduce costs in karting

17 April 2013

Motorsport Trailers aims to reduce the costs in karting by offering a trailer which can be used by families/teams who are on a restricted budget.

Paul McCartan, the director of Motorsport Trailers collaborated with superkart driver and champion Trevor Roberts in the project. “I've known Trevor for a long time through another business I have,” he said to Crash.net. “We build a form of motorsport trailer for cars and motorbikes. We've talked around the periphery of karting.”

Roberts and McCartan did a lot of research about the needs of karters and came up with the 4300 trailer which was unveiled at the Kartmania Show at Silverstone last November. Motorsport Trailers were also present at Autosport International at the NEC.

With Roberts providing advice on layout, the 4300 has been designed to accommodate the kart and equipment. Team personnel can sleep in it and it also can be towed by a road-going car. Savings can be found in fuel, tax and insurance.

McCartan added that he was talking to “quite a lot of people” who are interested in buying it for karting. “The feedback has been phenomenal”, he said.
