Petter Solberg column: Finland frustration

We head to Germany now and we will be testing before Rallye Deutschland. Hopefully we can make some small improvements. We have a good idea of what we are going to do and what we are going to test. We will focus on these areas and hopefully that should help.

It will be good to go there. We are ready. It is a rally I was pretty fast on last year and the year before - I love it. I didn't like it so much in the early days after what happened [when I had those crashes in 2002 and in 2004], but I have got through that and now it is a rally I enjoy.

Hopefully we will be properly on the pace and fighting for the victory again. We know S├ębastien [Loeb] has been super strong there in the past, but we have to stop him and Citro├źn. We are all working very hard to do that over the remaining events and we just have to keep at it and work even harder. We will do our best to give him a really, really hard time in Trier.

Until next time,

Petter Solberg

Off Topic : Crash hasn't dealt with it yet A little word about Philippe "Bug" Bugalski who tragically died yesterday in a freak accident. Best remembered for his win in the Xsara FWD against the WRCs. He was the driver who set off Citroen in the WRC when Loeb was still driving a Saxo. R.I.P. Repose en paix

The truth is that until half the race, he and JML were at similar pace with slight advantage for JML. The Solberg decided to harden his suspension for couple of stages, which led him little far behind with 10 seconds or so, then he reverted his old settings and was beaten by Hirvonen at Ouninpohja power stage only by half a second. The man has spirit to race left, not enough to beat Loeb, but who can:) Other truth is that this year is one of worst for Ford, but that is another story.
