Petter Solberg column: Time to turn things around

Next week's event will obviously be at a different time of year, which will affect the weather and the condition of the stages, but particularly after the kind of rally we had in France, I just can't wait to get back out there again. They always say that the best way to get over a bad result is to bounce straight back with a good one – so that's what I'll be targeting. Furthermore, while the route is a real challenge, the spectators really make it special. They are hugely enthusiastic and passionate about the sport, as you would expect from the Italians.

We won't have any testing this time due to the tight schedule in-between France and Italy, but that shouldn't be an issue, because everyone will be in the same boat. My priority will be a good finish – and we need it. After a couple of bad results recently in Germany and France, and after of course missing out on second place in GB by the tiniest of margins, we will really be going for it. It's time to turn it around.

Until next time,

Petter Solberg
