Matt's down in 8th and 4m 25.9s down at the end of Day 1.

Even Evgeny Novikov in his second WRC round is in 7th.

No doubt someone will drop out over the next two days and he'll end up in his customary 7th place.

Malcolm would be better off getting in the car himself.

What a completely stupid thing to say! Why not have a go at Khalid Al Qassimi (Sp?) instead. He does all of the rallies that Wilson does, and is consistantly very much slower. Before you say "Yes but he brings the money for the team" MAtt Wilson's ride is also paid for. He is setting some very good times, quicker than Henning Solberg on day two so far.
What is it with people constantly slagging him off? We know he isn't gonna be beating Loeb any time soon, but then again who is?

I don't believe Khalid Al Quassimi has ever made out he is in the 4th year of a 5 year plan to become the next British world champion like a certain M Wilson.

Your missing the point. If he was just out there for the fun of it, fine. But this was all about a five year plan to become World Champion. It ain't gonna happen is it.
