More specifically they are going to test for 6 days in a bid to try and find something that will help them close the gap to Citroen on this surface

I think that ford could potentially achieve this, Marcus won a few stages in Corica in his title fight with Seb back in 07

I think Mikko can be quicker than Marcus, but who knows if Citroen have found something else too (subject to it being homologated - lol)

Its probable that Mikko can fight for the podium and possible that he can get 2nd if the test goes really well. Petter and Ogier are probably going to be in that fight too. Im glad I will be there to see this one too.

Even with a 5 point lead its still 50/50 I believe.

@dafydd - i am a citroen/loeb fan :), and i still admire your ability to be generally fair and open minded with your comments
Anyway, like u, i think the next event will be one to watch closely. On paper, it would be hard to beat loeb and sordo, then we have petter, ogier and mikko in the mix. some people seem to underestimate petter on asphalt, and now he has a C4, i'm sure he'll be very competitive for podium
well rally is decided on the stages--and even sometimes after as we just saw in this event :). Let's see how it goes. Best of luck to ALL the drivers. Yeah, i still would like a loeb/sordo 1-2 to make the championship go straight to GB :), but nothing is writen in stone, we'll see.

If Malcolm's boy was as fast as he should be after 4 years of the 5 year plan, he would be getting in amongst the top three and supporting Mikko's bid for the World Championship.

I know, it doesn't make any sense....make a big song & dance after all this time and money about getting just a podium and still fail miserably :?

Taz and Rich:

You boys are truly Brutal,

I was watching EuroSports coverage again last night and Wilson actually put up a good fight against Henning there and beat him on the stages

I know he is not World champion Material but he is starting to have a go in all fairness bless him

I would much rather see you guys giving your thoughts on the battle at the front as apposed to trashing poor matty

I know you cant bring yourself to agree that Wilson was starting to have a go and I dont wanna encourage you guys to carry on about Matt so lets voice our thoughts on how the rest of the year is going to go and who we think is gonna win

Im interested to read peoples thoughts on this

I think you are all over estimating the impact petter is going to have. afterall it is a new car to him. i doubt if he has much budget for testing and citroen are definately not going to let him beat any of the works cars. The best Mikko can hope for is 3rd i believe. that would give him 6pts, seb to win with 10 which leaves mikko 1pt going to wales. Then winner takes all. Maybe J M can help mikko there too. road sweeping shouldnt come into it either so mikko first on raod might help as wales roads cut up for the lower cars.
Oiger could throw a spanner in works in spain. He cut his teeth on tar in france and Quenesel has taken the reigns off him so he will be fast. oiger 3rd in spain?

yeah kris, i think you make a very good point - ogier cant be discredited either, he does have some speed. i read ford is giving mikko a lot of practice leading up to spain to help his chances, but it may still be hard, as some of these guys are natural tarmac drivers. Also, citroen will probably pull out all they have in spain to get a lead before GB (which is theoratically favorable to ford). Spain will be a fast rally for sure now, given all that is at stake. i would not be surprised if the attrition rate is above average at the top - all those guys will probably be on/over the limits. i can't wait for spain :). i wish all the drivers all the best.
