True, but I be happy if they brought some part of it down south. I know it would not be feasible to run a 5 day event but a good three day one with equal number of stages north and south would be good.

Remember sleeping in the car for night stages in Mayo back in the late eighties. it was some event hearing a 911 coming from about two miles away in pitch black and otherwise total silence

Good work Bobby and all the best with this venture.
I agree with the guys above. The old "proper" 5 day and all night event was the best. The sight, sound and smell of the cars, especially on night stages is unforgettable!
It will be fantastic to see international interest brought back to what used to be one of the hardest and best rally in the world.

I remember being up on Sally Gap at 3:30 in the morning.
The sound and sight of those cars plus the entry back then was the best of British, Irish and somecases world championship. I feel very sad seeing what has happend to the circuit over these last ten years.

Asell as it being good for local fans when the Circuit got around the place, the time it came down our direction in the South East, it was reckoned the economy of Waterford City was boosted by over £1m, and that was back in the 80's. Maybe if it gets full IRC status, it might start going back to the old format. Witha round of the WRc every two years as well as this if it goes to a full round, has to be good for Irish rallying in general.
