"saw him flourish as he romped to a maiden IRC win."

You failed to mention he only romped to the win because Meeke's car was disqualified for a trivial technical infringement, he wouldn't have won it on pure pace although he kept Meeke honest.

The man may not have the greatest PR skills in the business but as far a driving goes i'm not gonna knock the bloke. It's not as if we have a major amount of talent from the UK in or near the top level at the moment. He may have won coz Kris got thrown out on some minor technical regulation but and correct me if i'm wrong ( Dont follow the IRC much ) that was a one off outing so even second is pretty good going.

@ Taz

Kris Meeke is TECHNICALLY from the UK but he drives for Team Ireland and he has Ireland written on his jumpsuit. So Kris himself must. Consider himself Irish...or T least half an half :P Faur play to him for beoming the IRC Champion though...roll on Monte Carlo!

"...romped to a maiden IRC win".

Not only did KM lose the event rather than GW win it, the Scottish entry was decidedly 2nd class.

Nonethless, good luck for 2010 Guy - the machinery is certainly capable of the title & it will help GW's development to be competing against some of the IRC regulars.
