This is great news. The biggest mistake he ever made was leaving Ford at the end of 2004. He could have been a regular winner. I know he's a crasher but he has got raw speed like Latvala. He could very well put it on the podium.

Good to see 'Derek' Duval back !

The WRC needs all the drivers with talent it can get.

What's wrong with the 'bin it or win it' mentality anyway ? We could do with a few more like that in the WRC.

He's a miserable git, but one of the many drivers who should still be in the WRC full time.

Must have been a lunatic to tuen down a four year contract with Ford in 2004 to join Citreon for one year in 2005.

Crash master Duval shouldn't have come out of retirement. He should have stayed at home. His results were below average despite being gifted with works drives with Citroen and Ford. The guy retired from more than 40% of the rallies he started. That is just so embarrassing.

Not only did he have a habit or rather hobby of crashing and retiring, he was also unpopular with his co-drivers. Stephane Prevot refused to navigate for him because Duval crashed in almost every rally and Duval put Patrick Pivato in hospital couple of years ago.

He is what he is

He never really had the Hallmarks of being a WRC Champion because he never really cracked the gravel

It is Ironic that his one and only WRC win was on Gravel in Austrailia. If memory serves me right Mcrae almost won that Rally in a Fabia VRS (ok WRC) but retired from 2nd. Duval went on to win

He was very very fast on the Black stuff (And I dont mean Hallie Berry) although he does own a Nightclub in his Native Belgium

He was kind of like Gilles Panizzi, does gravel Rallies and gets the occasional 4th / 5th but mostly shines / Dominates on the Black Stuff

I hope he doesnt crash and I hope he gets on the Podium and for once justifies the trust in him to do well
