Never really knew what to make of Loix in WRC, he spent a fair bit of time in Makkinen's shadow at Mitsubishi, also spending time at Hyundai with the Accent which to be fair was not the most competitive WRC car.

But I remember seeing him firstly in the Opel's in Belgium, and then the Toyota Celica's and Corolla WRC cars and he was no slouch.

By the by, 3 IRC starts and 3 IRC wins. Not to be sniffed at?

Yeh, Freddy was really impressive in the Corolla, in fact I think he had the closest finish in Portugal and he finished 2nd by maybe 3 seconds or something

Then Mitsubishi signed him and that was the end of that, I think He could of been one of the Top Drivers if he hadnt got wedged as a 2nd driver for Ralliart

I remember when he did Ypres one year and insisted that Toyota give him just the customer spec Corolla so he could demonstrate how good that is, He won.

He had all tha makings like Latvala and Ogier do today

He is obviously still a class Driver, I think maybe his ability is between the current IRC and WRC drivers, he is sort of mid way between the two
