WRC » Loeb: I'll retire in 2011 – but not due to Ogier

Record-breaking multiple World Rally Champion Sébastien Loeb has all-but admitted that he will retire from competition at the end of 2011 - but he insists it is not out of fear of being regularly beaten by young Citroën team-mate Sébastien Ogier

Can't says I'll miss him and I think it'll be a much more exciting championship without him.

Hopefully someone will step to the fore instead of another Citroen drone/clone.

wrc ya. no it wont! we will now have a championship of LESSE drivers. it is not loebs fault that there is no-one skilled enough to take the fight to him.

and what do you mean about another "citroen drone/clone"? if citroen nuture and sign a good driver , good on them. pity ford dont do the same. but watch out, the MINIs are coming!

He will retire in 2011 due to the threat of the Matthew Wilson - who by then will be in year 7 of "the 5 year plan"... i await the usual unbelieveable press release from Stobart with words to that effect before the next W.R.C round!

He is for Rally what Rossi is for MotoGP. It's ever so spectacular how some people can dominate a sport that is always stated as the "where the best of the world drive".
Respect for his (already and future) achievements.
Obviously he haven't had any serious injuries, so he can decide in clear mind that he has enough :)

Ogier is good, but not that great - Would he have won any rallies this year if the Fords were reliable or if Petter had the money to run at the Factory level? Certainly would not have won in Japan. Maybe Loeb has been-there done-that why risk the life he has been lucky enough to earn.

Loeb is undoubtedly the greatest driver of his generation....whether he is the greatest of all time is another matter..and as for people saying that he is scared of ogier is ridiculous...after winning 7 world championships in a row his hunger to win must be gone...Ogier is good but nowhere near as good as loeb
