Kimi Raikkonen has been ruled out of an event he had been expected to excel on, after crashing on the shakedown for the Rally de Espana.

Kimi is a donkey. as for the other big talking point this weekend, looks almost certain that loeb is going to let sordo win. he is talking of being too far behind after tomorrows gravel section blah blah. Its another blatent lack of respect by loeb for the sport and the other drivers. If he truly was a great, he would want to win at all costs.

Citroen may have the best car but in kimi they have a fool, loeb is arrogant and sordo is useless. Oigier is even starting to sound like loeb. Rallying is nearly dead.

Never forget that in motorsports, it's easier to teach a Kimi Raikkonen to stop crashing than to teach a Matt Wilson to become fast. Remember McRae, crashing all the time and then becoming World Champion. The expectations are high about Raikkonen but he is still in his first year of rallying, ever! The other WRC contenders made that kind of mistake when they were beginners in their country, where no journo was there. Although, if I remember well, Latvala did crash out during the last SSS last year or in 2008 isn't it? All in all, no big deal, just a sad mistake putting his 2011 season at risk, which is a shame because after one season learning, he would have delivered next year, for sure...

Raikkonen has both the money and the sponsorship pull to be in the wrc next year if he wants. Petter managed it by himself. It might even give him an incentive to play a percentage game in the first few stages if he's paying for crashes out of his own pocket.

Well Ferrari gave him 16 million this year to pay off the rest of his contract. If Kimi really wants to do rallying next year, let him put that 16 millions towards a team of his own and get himself his own C4 or Focus. :)

Kimi could learn from Kubica and Valentino Rossi how to perform in rallies. He's in regular season and still crashes, while occasional rally achievements of Rossi and especially Robert are really impressive comparing to the opposition.

@ A.S. I dont recall EVER seeing Kubica competing at the top level, whilst rossi's performances at the top have been ok. Just because someone is doing well in regional events means very little. Villagra is 5x argentinian champ but only the same as matt atm for example
