WRC » IRC: Wilks joins Peugeot UK for 2011

Guy Wilks: We are very excited to be joining Peugeot UK for the 2011 IRC. It was a difficult decision to leave Skoda UK and I am indebted to them for their support in 2010. But the opportunity to drive the Peugeot 207 S2000 for Peugeot UK, with the support of a team like Kronos was too hard to resist.

Its a funny move alright. we were told all year that skoda were pumping a lot of money into development of the fabia and that the 207 was developed fully more or less with little more work to do. It was evident that the skoda was quicker than the 207. I wonder how much of the development packs were being handed down to skoda UK. Maybe Guy doesnt have to put as much of his own money into the peugoet deal.

One thing the move will do though and that is show that meeke is a better driver than wilks and maybe even shut Guy up!!

And when it doesn't go right will he jump ship again? If the Fabia is the best IRC car and the 207 at the end of its development - strange move or is it just money?

just read wilks interview on autosport.com. What a bullsh1tter. He doesnt see meeke as a tough act to follow!!! We will see.

Also, reading between the lines, he definitley went for money resaons. He talked about getting in development etc. He had his chance to do this with Proton but turned his back on them as soon as he go the offer from Skoda.
