WRC » IRC: Solberg confirmed for Monte

Petter Solberg: I was very surprised when Peugeot contacted me and asked if I would be a guest-driver for the 2011 IRC Rallye Monte-Carlo in January. And of course I had to accept! [But] this is a oneā€“time arrangement, and I have no plans for a future in the IRC. My plan is still to be in the WRC, and fight for the championship in 2011.

Will somebody PLEASE give this man a sponsored drive????????? He's shown what he can do on a limited budget (as in paying out of his own pocket), so it's not like he hasn't proved himself - again.

Its so difficult for the poor guy

There are only 4 real sponsored Factory seats and sadly they are all spoken for

I still think that Petter will possibly end up driving a Monster sponsored Fiesta WRC in 2011, maybe run by his own PSWRT

Unless Citroen relax their secrecy rule in just Petters case only where by he is the only privateer to have a DS3 in its 1st year

Of course they could always just give him the Junior seat without asking him for a budget as his sponsorship is conditional on him running his own team

He will be there in one form or another Guarenteed !!

He'll end up with his own DS3 probably PSWRT managed/coloured but run under the citroen juniors....A bit like Kronos. Citroen Scandanivia can't believe there luck in terms of sales now with the Private C4 he had last year and this will be known in Citroen HQ.

Yes there are DS3 secrecy issues but there is no way given a DS3 he is going to jeopardise it. Loeb has come out and said he doesn't mind if Petter gets one although he said it might make things harder for him!

He seems to be part of the Citroen/Peugeot family and driving the S2000 207 is just another example of this...

Me-I'm already looking at how to get there for this.

I don't know, I think he'll make the jump to IRC if nothing happens for him in WRC. He loves rallying too much just to sit out a year.

Shame on all the other teams for not making room for him.
