Malcolm waxing on about his 44 wins with the Focus. Forgets that was over 11 seasons and the C4 won 35 WRC rallies in 4 seasons. MSport have made a complete mess of Ford's WRC account over many many years. Exhibit A - failure to lift a Drivers' Cup. Exhibit B - Matthew Wilson.

In fairness, Citroen owe a lot of their success to Loeb. If he wasn't flawless and made several more mistakes like any other driver, then it would have been interesting. 60-40 on wins to Citroen I would think as their car was marginally better.
Malcolm should have been more ruthless in his decisions with drivers all along: Petter should have been drafted in mid season 2010 for Mikko to see how he would perform in the Focus with an eye on the future.
At this stage I am fed up with him not backing serious talent over his son: yes Matt is very talented but nowhere near wrc level.
It looks like next year will be another Citroen whitewash.

Agreed. Malcom needs to play hardball. Citroen cut Sordo when he wan't cutting it and ford should do the same with Mikko and Matt. Citroen was smart and had a juniord team that actually had potential and was able to then get a talented driver from there.

What does ford have? Jari who is a great talent that is very close to becoming a champion. Mikko who has potential but obviuosly can't handle the pressure, wilson who is a complete waste and Henning who just doesn't has what it takes. Malcom needs to nut up and get rid of the drivers who offer nothing more than sponsor money. If ford doesn't start being tough and expecting results they will never win.

Jus reading Petter Solberg's autobiography, 110 percent. He makes some very interesting comments about Malcolm's over bearing management style, and it's easy to see why he left for Subaru. Despite supposedly having a 5 year contract at Ford, he didn't have anything in writing and Prodrive came along with a firm long term offer.

I find Malcolm very difficult to understand. All of the other teams let young drivers go out there and learn, and go as fast as they can, even if it means the odd accident. Not Malcolm - he believes they should all be on a 5 year plan, and shouldnt bend any cars.

Not signing Petter is hideous. Not only does he not have the services of one of the fastest drivers in the championship, but as a double whammy, Petter then goes out and beats his factory drivers, helping Citroen to a number of 1,2,3,4's.

Persisting with Matt, who clearly can't cut it is a joke !
