MINI unworried about the race readiness of Kris Meeke and Dani Sordo ahead of WRC debut later in the year

I had the misfortune of following one of these today whilst driving my classic Mini Cooper.

It is one of the most ugly cars on the road. It will sell to school mums because it is high like a 4x4 and is just bulky.

Why couldn't they have "rallyfied" a regular Mini, instead of that fecking 'orrible Clubman?

Now imagine if Citroen tried to make a rally car out of a C3 Picasso, or Ford out of a C-Max

It's always a slight worry when a manufacturer picks a car for marketing reasons, Peugeot 307 springs to mind.

Still, it's good they are entering WRC.

Taz should perhaps remember that the 307 WRC entered for "marketing" purposes actually won 3 WRC events with Marcus Gronholm at the wheel. Maybe the 'flying shopping trolley' will surprise us all - but not whilst Meeke's piloting it.
