Good on you Seb,

I've always supported Petter, and cursed a bit whenever you beat him, but this an outstanding achievement, so big congratulations

Yeah big congratulations to Loeb. A lot of people are saying that he's killing the sport and making it boring. How, exactly? Every rally fan will look back on these times and be glad that they were there to witness such a class act. Look at his drive in Sardinia this year. Sweeping the road on all three days and he still managed to win. Or New Zealand last. He crashed into that bridge but was still able to get up into third. Or Raly Ireland in 2009 where he had the same terrible conditions as everyone else yet he still managed to beat Sordo by 1:27.

Loeb deserves every single one of his eight titles.

It should actually be 9, but Citroen stopped him from challenging Solberg to make sure they won the maufacturers championship. I still think he should have won that year too.

There is no one in the WRC that is even close to Loeb, he is so far ahead of the chasing pack. Probably Ogier is his closest rival.

He should have 9 titles yeah but he doesn't so that's all there is to it.

I'm an Ogier fan but I'll have to disagree about him being Loeb's nearest rival. Latvala is definitely equal second with Ogier. Can't wait to see them all in action on Rallye Monte-Carlo!

A living legend, and his titles were in a row, which is maybe even more impressive than the 7 of Schumi: since 2003 (I agree that he would probably have won that year too), Loeb's reign on the WRC has been unassailable in spite of Ford throwing more and more cars at him (and Matt Wilson) and even Ogier trying to sabotage his teammate from inside (what a brat!)
Next year should be interesting, with Ogier elsewhere, Latvala no longer second to Hirvonen, and the Minis up-and-coming. I can't wait!

Only a vastly experienced driver can win 8 WC's. Lets not forget Loeb entered his own private car (non factory) a few years ago and still won the WRC. This lack of experience may have cost Mikko (Hirvonen) the last round (Rally GB) which automatically gave Loeb WRC No 8. This is not to say I am a fan of Seb- there has also been a clear lack of competition in recent years. Only Schumacher (F1) & Rossi (MotoGP) won 7 WC's each. The record stands!!!!!

Not just the finest rally driver of modern times but one of the most naturally talented drivers we have ever seen. Stunning at Le Mans in the most powerful
LMP cars, and good enough in an F1 car for Red Bull to ask him to stay on for an entire test session - in which he was 8th quickest! It's not just sheer speed, he has wonderful balance and sensitivity in a car which partly explains how he finds grip where others can't. In many ways both in and out of a car he reminds me of the late legendary Jimmy Clark (who could also drive anything) - and there is no higher praise to bestow than that.
