Yeh i think you could see easily see him getting into the Top 5 overall in that Fabia S2000 on certain events when he gets a clean run, for sure he will be very fast

Not so good news though for the likes of Hanninen, Prokop and Al-Atiyah etc, this may be good for business for the IRC as some drivers will know that they have lost the SWRC Title before they start the season

They may now choose to concentrate on the IRC as like the WRC is with Loeb the SWRC will be with Ogier, oh well, pros and cons with everything, at least the teams will have a very useful yeardstick in Ogier to see who has potential in the SWRC compared to him

There was never any mention of Ogier contesting the SWRC next year so I don't think the title race is over before it's even begun. A lot of people expected Al-Attiyah to do well this year but bad luck and exclusions destroyed his bid so the same could happen with Ogier. I wonder if SKODA will pair him with Hanninen in the Red Bull-backed team?

It's good that he's doing every round next year though. Maybe we'll get even luckier and he'll enter The Circuit Of Ireland in April!

For Aye :

They dont have to mention the full SWRC, he is doing the full season in a Fabia S2000 so of course he will be in the SWRC Category, as thats the appropriate class for that car in the WRC

You cant compare Al Attiyah to the class driver that is Sebastien Ogier, he will be very Tough to beat, some WRC Drivers wont be able to beat him in Full WRC Cars

He wont be paired with Hanninen in the RedBull cars because VW want to get the Logitical experience of running two cars in readines for 2013, thats the whole point of running two Fabias this year and next

Finally, I dont think he will do Circuit of Ireland as that is IRC and nothing to do with the WRC,he has no interest in the IRC / Super 2000 Career, he is only keeping Match fit by driving that instead of the WRC Car, however, he could start driving a Polo WRC toward the end of the season

@ Dafydd Larcombe

I know that he's doing the full season in the Fabia S2000 and the SWRC is the appropriate class for that type of car, but that doesn't necessarily mean that he'll be registered for the Championship itself. As you have pointed out, he's only competing in the Fabia to keep match fit.

I compared Al-Attiyah to Ogier because at the start of the year a lot of people were expecting Nasser to wipe the floor with the competition, but he didn't. But considering that it hasn't been confirmed that Ogier will be going for the title, then I don't think that some drivers will go to the IRC instead of the SWRC. But IF he is entered then it's still not a guarantee that Ogier will trounce everyone. That's all I meant.

And finally about The Circuit Of Ireland thing. Ogier definitely won't be entered for it, but it's always nice to dream! Are you planning on going to it?

For Aye :

From a Sporting point of view - It would be the right thing to do for VW NOT to register Ogier for SWRC Championship points, I do think drivers and teams will shy away from SWRC if he is fully registered, sponsors and teams dont like it when they cant win and its not really fair for him to deny everyone points like that

Also I dont really rate Al attiyah that much, Ott Tanak is a far better prospect in my eyes

Ogier can probably still be 6th or 7th overall in the WRC in a mixture of Fabia and Polo WRC outings in 2012. The big question is who will be his Team mate ?

And finally, im not sure what im doing in 2012, I will probably have a look at Donegal as I have some friends there and I keep getting asked to visit, and im thinking about going to Sardinia too but who knows - lol

I very much doubt he will be registered for SWRC points.

Look at all their entries with the fabia s2000 this year trying out young drivers like Riedemann and Abbring, they werent registered for SWRC.

@ Chris

First of all im sorry for hijacking this post but i want people to see this.

Many of my best friends work at M-sport, Would you like to see them out of a job? most have bought houses and are worried about paying their mortgage or if they will have to sell up and move down south, Having to pull kids out of schools theyre used to and things like that so please think before you make your comments!

Secondly Mathew Wilson has nothing to do with the works team, It is up to Malcolm if he wants to organise that drive, That seat only exists for him if he didnt drive that car wouldnt be taken by anyone, So stop thinking of it as an available seat!

Gronholm and Hirvonen have both missed out on a WRC title by a single point with m-sport.

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY! if it wasnt for M-sport and Citroen there wouldnt be a WRC championship because in 2009,2010 and half of 2011 they were the only teams and if either had pulled out then both would have pulled out and we wouldnt have the WRC and
