Congrats (again) to Loeb, difficult to argue that the best driver didn't win. And despite the less savoury side of the Mini story, good to see their car is again competitive, though with Sordo a tarmac specialist that could change when the WRC moves on to gravel.

And finally how about a shout for Hirvonen, finishing fourth in a car which is not set up to suit his driving style. Not that far off the pace first time out, and at least he finished and got some points which is more than can be said for some more "exciting" drivers.

Well done Loeb. Class act always.

What about our local ace Hapless Wilson? Surely he'd want to start his 9th season in fine style to impress the new sponsor! Well it doesnt make for good reading does it.. 19mins off the lead, 2 1/2mins off the top ten. Granted he got lucky with a few S2000 retirements (including a Proton) to move him up the top 20 but what a joker. I think it's safe to say we're in for another season of shame for all concerned. I won't be buying any of his sponsor's product either.
