when a bunch of suits from london think that they can run a world championship from an office and take the profits and can not get a proper package to run it they all deserve to lose their jobs they would come up with ideas for the sport that existed 20 years ago and would call it a new idea ,dr could not do it ,north one could not do it, Eurosport the company that stands in to put the sport first with there own employees which do an excelent job with the IRC why should they take on people who managed to try and destroy the sport.thumbs up for eurosport and dont take on the dead would from north one.

Rallying is always a difficult sport to make media friendly, the bulk of the casual fans who have come into the sport in the last 20 years are via gaming. A promotor needs to have access to multi media platforms to catch the widenst audience. Web for the hardcore fans and prime time magazine shows for the people the sponsors wnat to target, with gaming to bring the kids into the sport. But, with the sport deviating so far from the OEMs road cars it becomes harder to fund and finance the package. Rallying needs a heavy shake up and has done since the WRC rules were "adjusted" to let the Corolla compete. A non 4WD GP4 / GPA format should be re investigated 100% stock body with a production derived engine with classes based upon RWD and 4WD from standard kit of parts open to works and teams. A clubman car should be sub 150 000 Euros....only an idea but you know it makes sense

For Lord Jesus of Nazareth :

Lol ! Rallying has moved on a little bit since your resurection oh Holy One - Lol. Yes the 70s were Awesome with the Escorts etc, but modern Rally Cars would just be FWD if they wernt 4WD so its not like we could re capture that incredible Era. We have to stay with what we have in terms of the New Breed of WRC Car, they are very Impressive machines

Apart from that I totally agree with your initial comments ref the Marketing side of things. One way of evening things up though would be to set a Cap on what teams can spend as I hear that is part of the reason why Mini/BMW are about to pull the Plug, they are scared that VWs Massive Budget programme will allow them to Dominate the Sport like Citroen has done in Recent Years with Ford.

Ford could also pull out and leave Big Budget Citroen and VW do Battle, the problem is no one else will want to come in to the Sport as it will just be a silly money and Power Game between these two Heavy weight Manufacturers

I couldn't agree more. VW is big competitor for BMW/Mini, being German manufacturer probably. And they don't wan't to continue such investment in rallying, probably it's not their priority, considering the limited programme last year. Shame really, there should be more teams fighting.

To be honest it would be the best thing if coverage was changed to Motors TV. At least it would be shown at the time it was advertised.

Any coverage with Eurosport is liable to be delayed which really messes up what your recording, especially when its the only time it shown.

Channel 4 was best at showing WRC, it should go back to them.
