WRC » Latvala: 'No chance to avoid' rock

Jari-Matti Latvala: In my pace notes I had a rock marked on the inside so I couldn't cut. I saw another rock next to it that wasn't there during the recce and because I was in sixth gear, there was no chance to avoid it...

Probably gonna get some negative posts on this but don't honestly think the guys ever gonna string a whole season together thats good enough to be WDC. Don't get me wrong i like the bloke he's bloody quick and talented but seems to have a win or bust style of driving. Remind you of anyone else? (here's the bit i'm gonna get s*it over and i am a massive fan of Mr McRae).
Would Colin have won the WDC if Toyota hadn't been excluded? Guess we'll never know. I'm hoping Petter gives him a bit of a kicking this season as Mr Wilson seems to have been backed into a corner and hired him on a 1 year contract.
PS RIP Colin gone but never ever forgotten

I've spent the last half hour reading all the f1 news and comments and I think going by what I've read its neither the co-driver or the spectators or even the rock who are to blame, im surprised no-one had suggested it before but if the f1 section is to be believed its all Lewis Hamilton who is the blame for anything and everything (or lulu as the knuckle dragging members call him)

between the FIA's apathy thats killing the wrc the whole cluster f*ck in relation to the coverage and Bernie sending all the bbc's f1 viewers a tube of ky 2012 could be the end of the world at least when it comes to the world of motorsport.

The co-driver is the least guilty of course, there wes little joke. It is pitty Latvalla has so little luck probably, because I totally disagree it is his fault trying to be too fast, looks like first run on those stages are nothing comparing to the secong where he won around 95% of the split times! He's really angry isn't he?

The cncellation of this stage second run makes the reason quite suspisious though. I wouldn't be surprised if this is the last rally Mexico in the world stage.

Well I just think that Latvala is simply Unlucky, poor old Petter also hit a rock too, when your Flat out and Commited to a line you simply cant avoid sudden rocks when your at Full speed unless you wanna big moment/accident

He has recovered well though and leapt back to 4th and is poised to get at least 3rd place. Its not a disaster but certainly a Major setback, he has once again proved his superior speed though and comfortably took responded by taking massive time out of Loeb and Mikko on the follwing stages

Maybe one of the Citroens are yet to stumble and the Ford Boys can fill the last two podium places, this would be a small concilation, Im sad for Jari-Matti but pleased that yet again he was leading and is not deflated about the incident, he will fight on and this will give him more Confidence knowing that yet again he has been the Pace setter

Having seen the coverage, theres nothing sinister, its just a rock in the road. The real issue is why something breaks every time. You could hit 25 rocks with a club rally car and not break anything.
