I feel so sorry for Petter, the guy just has no luck at all, especially with rocks. I remember a few years ago, i think when he was still with Subaru and possibly on Rally Japan, he was on for his first win in years and some muppet had placed a massive rock on the racing line through a fast right hand turn, before Petter was due to pass, and he hit it, broke the steering arm (i think) and went straight off into retirement. Poor guy was in tears and couldn't speak to the cameras. He deserves so much better.

I am starting to see a pattern here. Hirvonen, broken cars. Jarri-Matti, broken cars. Petter, broken cars. You can't tell me its the drivers, I am not buying that. the rest of the field does the same stages and makes it through. Ford's boss better get on the stick, its the CARS that are letting him down, not the DRIVERS.

It's strange how Ford can't make their rally cars more reliable after so many years in ralling because their road cars are with pretty good quality.

Same horse different jockey, same problem!
Definately the weak link in what is otherwise a competative car. Malcolm and the M-Sport technical boys need to review what the homologation rules allow for modifying suspension/steering components as apart from not winning rallies Ford will see this as damaging to their image on the world stage and will want it sorted.
The one small compensation out of this latest episode is that it proves that Jarri-Matti is not driving irrationally or cracking under pressure and 'going off trying to keep up with the Citroen boys'as some people seem to think.

I saw the Loeb big spin yeasterday, he hit a rock which turned his car on almost 180 degrees and the Cintroen was quite ok with this. If it was Ford there would be big drama. This is just not right.
